Every attendee of Comic-Con International: San Diego receives a 160-page black-and-white souvenir book filled with information about the convention and artwork related to the themes of the event. I submitted an illustration honoring the 25th Anniversary of Sergio Aragonés’ hilarious comic book, Groo. It features the book’s title character, his dog Rufferto and frequent enemies Arba and Dakarba.

The image was printed in all 120,000+ copies of the book, and I had the honor of showing it to Sergio Aragonés himself who described my style as “expressive” and rewarded me with a signature and sketch accompanying my personal copy.
